Is Messi Really going to Saudi Arabia?

Wait? Messi to Saudi Arabia? He’s been recently linked to an “already-agreed” transfer to the Arabian team Al Hilal this summer, but not all of it is true.

The World Champions has been recently linked with a deal with Saudi Arabian team Al Hilal, which previously made him a very big offer. They are willing to pay as high as $440 million per season, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Messi has recently made a trip to the country to honor his sponsorship deal. This brought many controversies as he missed a practice day without the club’s authorization. This led to a sanction meant to have him miss 2 weeks of training, games, and more. With only one week of the sanction being in place, Lionel has returned to PSG training. The sanction has been waived a bit, but he will still need to pay the equivalent of two weeks as a fine to the club.

After all the claims that the move was in its final stages, his father an agent talked.

Father’s Declarations

“There’s absolutely NOTHING agreed with any club for next season. We won’t do anything now — and we will decide at the end of the current season”.

“Leo Messi’s name is always used around — but we can guarantee that there’s NOTHING signed, agreed or even verbally agreed and it won’t happen now”.

Firstly this shuts down all the rumors around that “done deal”. Secondly, it leaves it very clear that no deal is going to be made, at least until PSG are proclaimed Ligue 1 Champions.

However, the 35-year-old player hasn’t made any declarations himself.

With negotiations still open there are 3 main possibilities for Messi’s future:

  1. A return to FC Barcelona
  2. A reunion with rival Ronald while playing for Al Hilal
  3. Inter Miami.

We are going to have to wait to know the answer. PSG currently sit top of the league, 6 points clear of second place Lens with only 4 games left.
