FC Barcelona win their first major tournament since Messi’s departure
FC Barcelona conquered the “Spanish Supercopa” this past Sunday wining with it its first major trophy since Messi’s departure. They won the match against Real Madrid in an astonishing way winning 3-1 with goals form: Gavi (33′), Lewandowski (45′) and Pedri (69′).
Barcelona dominated the game from beginning to end with a great midfield control by Gavi and great offensive work by Pedri and Lewandoski. The two that shined the most were Gavi and Lewandoski whom showed an incredible chemistry on attack. The participation of other players like Balde and Araujo were key to Barcelonas victory.
Balde showed great personality appearing in many importan plays. He still lacks some of the experience other player have but certainly not the skills. On the other hand, we have Araujo who, once again, controlled Barcelona’s side and was able to keep players like Vinicius, Benzema and Valverde form causing much damage other than the gol scored by Benzema (93′).
It’s important to point out that this is Xavi’s first trophy as Barcelona manager. The job that he’s done with the Barcelona squad is quite surprising. Taking a team which was a complete disaster, aligning them, and changing them to the team which currently sits on top of “La Liga” and just won “Spains Supercup”.
Barca’s future is very bright. We can expect many more things from this team with tons of young player filled with talent.
