FIFA TOTY 2023 has just landed

FIFA’s Team of the Year has finally arrived for FIFA 23. As every year it’s conformed by what EA Sports FIFA says are the 11 best players of the year that just passed.

Goalkeeper

1. Thibaut Courtois: Real Madrid’s main goalkeeper. With a 96 rating on the game, was one of the best goalkeepers all year long. He won La Liga, the Champions League, the Spanish Supercup, and the European Supercup. At a more personal level, he was awarded man of the match in the Champions League final and won the Yashin Trophy.

Defenders

1. Theo Hernández: An AC Milan defender rated 94 on FIFA. Was a fundamental part of AC Milan’s Series A victory. As well, helped tremendously his home nation achieve second place in the World Cup. During the entire year, Theo showed dominance and was a tough wall to get past.
2. Van Dijk: Liverpool’s number-one defender and captain. Got his team to be FA Cup and English League Cup champions. One of the most known center back in the world. He’s known for being almost impossible to bypass.
3. Éder Militar: A 25-year-old Real Madrid defender rated 94 by FIFA. In 2022 he won La Liga, the Champions League, the Spanish Supercup, and the European Supercup.
4. Achraf Hakimi: With a 94 rating on FIFA, Hakim was a key figure with his club and nation. Club wise he won the French Supercup and the Ligue 1, but where he really stood out was with his nation. Hakim was one of the most important pieces the Moroccans had in Qatar. With his nation, they were able to achieve an impressive 4th place. This is further than what any other African nation has ever gotten.

Midfielders

1. Jude Bellingham: One of the young stars this year brought us. Even though he didn’t win any trophies this year his personal skills are what gained him this spot. Dominating the midfield in each game he appeared goes to show that he is full of potential.
2. Kevin de Bruyne: A very well-known name in soccer. During this year he got Premier League player of the year and registered a personal best of 15 goals in the previous season.
3. Luka Modric: One of football superstars. Getting a 96 rating this year, Real Madrid’s captain once again showed everything he is capable of leading his team into wining La Liga, the Champions League, the Spanish Supercup, and the European Supercup.

Attackers

1. Kylian Mbappe: One of the best attackers currently playing. Won the French Supercup and the Ligue 1 with PSG with astonishing participation. As well, he was one of the most referent French players in Qatar. He scored a Hat-Trick in the final against Argentina plus a penalty.
2. Karim Benzema: The Balon d’Or 2022 winner. Benzema had an incredible year, one of the best years of his career. Not only did he win the Baton d’Or, but he also won the UEFA best player, La Liga Player of the Year, Team Player of the Season, La Liga and Champions League top goal scorer, La Liga, the Champions League, the Spanish Supercup, and the European Supercup.
3. Leonel Messi: The now-crowned king of soccer. Won the French Supercup and the Ligue 1 with PSG, but this wasn’t what really made him shine. What actually made him shine was the fact that with Argentina he was able to conquer La Finalissima and the World Cup! Messi guided Argentina to winning their 3rd World Cup and demonstrated he es the best of the best.
