Bundesliga title race is getting hotter
Bayern Munich have lost their most recent Bundesliga match against Mönchengladbach 3-2 giving an unexpected turn to the league.
Bayern, whom aren’t having one of their best season have just lost to Mönchengladbach as visitors 3-2. They started dominating the match in terms of possession, but Mönchengladbach were creating chances almost every time they got the ball. This quickly paid off and in one of their attacks Upamecano was forced to commit a foul that got him expelled to avoid the goal (8′). However this really complicated things for the Munich team. They were left more than 80 minutes with one man less.
Afterwards Mönchengladbach saw their pressure paid off with a goal. It was scored by Lars Stindl (13′). As expected, the visitors didn’t sat back and tied the game thanks to Eric Choup-Moting (35′). The first half ended 1-1.
On the second half, Mönchengladbach soon came with the same attitude of the first half and scored two goal. The first one came from Jonas Hofmann (55′) and the second one from Marcus Thuram (84′). The match stayed 3-1 until the 93rd minute were Mathys Tel scored to help mitigate the result.
This result really changes everything in the Bundesliga. Union Berlin can now go first in the table, especially if they are able to win they up-coming match, they will be facing Schalke.
Nonetheless, we currently have 4 contenders for the title:
- Bayern Munich
- Union Berlin
- Borussia Dortmund
- SC Freiburg
If things continue and Bayern doesn’t win this year, it will certainly mean the end of their 10 year streak.
