FIFA The Best Player goes to Messi and Putellas
Leonel Messi and Alexia Putellas have won Men’s and Women’s, respectively, FIFA The Best Player for the year 2022.
Messi won the voting unanimously gaining his 7th FIFA player of the year title, more than any other player. He had many achievements during this year. However, the most iconic and remarcable of them all is the fact that he lead Argentina to becoming World Champions in Qatar. s a result of his performance at the competition he won the World Cup Ballon d’or. Likewise, he won the 2021/22 Ligue 1 with PSG.
On the other hand, we have Putellas whom started with a rough year. She had to be in the sidelines thanks to an injury she suffered. Even with this misstep she achieved so much this year. She won the 2021/22 Women’s Champions League top scorer with 11 goals and lead Barcelona to a 50+ winning streak record. Above all, this is Putellas second year in a row she’s been given the prize.
