Manchester City take the Premier League lead
The Premier League title race has just started with Manchester City leading the way. Three teams are real contenders for the crown: Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United.
This is the first time since August that the Premier League has seen someone but Arsenal sit on top. With their 3-1 lost to City they have now been surpassed due to goal difference.
What was said to be one of the best games of the season really paid off. The score board was quickly opened by Manchester City with a goal from Kevin De Bruyne (24′). Both team came into the field wanting to win it all, but Manchester was the one that looked as if they wanted it more.
Just before the rest, Bukayo Saka scored from the penalty point (42′). With this both teams were tie when they went into the half time.
On the second half, City came out more aggressive and dominante than before and were able to score another goal thanks to Jack Gealish (72′). Even after this Arsenal hasn’t able to take control of the game and the 3-1 looked as it was closer than the equalizer and it did. Erling Haaland scored (82′), sealing the game 3-1.
This is the first home defeat of the season for Arsenal, whom aren’t having some great weeks. From the 3 last games they’ve played they have only been able to get 1 point. This gave Manchester City the opportunity to take the lead for the first time since November.
The next time we see this to giants is in the Etihad which could be a championship deciding game.
To major things are possible now:
- Arsenal could win their first league since 2004
- City could become the fifth club to win the Premier League 3 times in a row
