Spain has a new manager since last December after Luis Enrique left. He was replaced by Luis de la Fuente. Ramos claims that de la Fuente informed him that he wasn’t going to form part of Spain’s squad no matter what.

“I received a call from the current head coach who informed I am not and will not be part of his plans, regardless of how I perform or whatever I do in my career,” Ramos posted on social media.

The 36 years old player expreses that he feels very disappointed with this decision. He still believes that he has a lot more to offer to his country.

Sergio career with the national team is nothing but incredible. He made 180 appearances and scored a total of 23 goals. Likewise, he won the 2010 World Cup and back-to back European championship in 2008 and 2012.

His debut was in 2005 when he was playing for Sevilla.

Sergio Ramos was being left out of the national team already as he didn’t play neither in the Euro 2020 nor the 2022 World Cup. His las appearance was in March 31, 2021, where he only played 3 minutes in Spain’s victory against Kosovo 3-1.
