The rest of the F1 liveries are in!
Last week we dived into the first 5 F1 teams liveries that were unveiled. We now have all 10 liveries that are going to take part of this 2023 F1 season. Many of them are looking to out perform their last season. Here are the last five of them:
McLaren
The new MCL60, as the team chose to name the car, is the designated to bring back McLaren to the top four or more in the constructors championship. The name broke te pattern the team was following with previous cars to commemorate their 60th anniversary.
The livery showed a very similar color scheme to last year’s car. The only real different are the distribution of the color that changed a bit.
McLaren have a new team principal this year and a new rookie. They aim to accomplish great things along side Lando Noris. The team principal is no other than Andrea Stella, who has been charge with the duty of bringing the glories day back to the team
“We are realistic in the very short term, there’s good developments already in the pipeline that should land trackside very soon in the season and should allow us to take a decent step forward.” said Stella
Their two pilots for this season are:
- Lando Norris with the No. 4
- Oscar Piastri with the No. 81
Aston Martin
The new AMR23 is here with the aim of taking over the competition. We can see the same color scheme as the previous season’s one. The team in looking to open the doors of becoming a championship contender. They know this car might not cut it for that yet, but they hope it makes the beginning for coming years.
Some of the major changes we can see in the car are a new front wing, a more aggressively designed sided area and engine cover. Fallows said that 90% of the livery has been changed from last year’s.
Their two pilots for this season are:
- Fernando Alonso with the No. 14
- Lance Stroll with the No. 18
Ferrari
Ferrari unveiled the new SF23. This is the car they hope will finally bring the championship back to them after so many years with nothing. As always Ferrari featured and almost entire red livery with some black features.
“The goal is to win, clearly,” Leclerc said. “Winning is what motivates me and the team. I’m excited to get back in the car and try to win that championship.”
Something unusual took place for F1 unveilings as both drivers got to take the car for a spin. Charles took it for the first few laps as he won the coin toss.
The team aims to fix all the reliabilities issues that they faced last season and strategy wise as well.
There was one specific aspect that caught our attention an it was the front wing. They’ve placed slot gaps separators that were seen last year in one of Mercedes practice days. They have 2 specific purpose:
- Hold the front wing elements in place
- Generate aerodynamic out wash
How will the other teams react to this? Let us know you opinion in the comment section!
Their two pilots for this season are:
- Charles Leclerc with the No. 16
- Carlos Sainz with the No. 55
Mercedes
Mercedes have given back the F1 a mostly black car with their new W14. With a terrible last season compared to previous, Mercedes is looking to be back at the top and contend for both championships once again.
The team left several spots unpainted exposing the carbon fiber body. They’ve done this looking to reduce as much weight as possible. This might be a controversial play by Mercedes since if other teams start doing the same it will be harder and harder to tell each car apart.
Their two pilots for this season are:
- Lewis Hamilton with the No. 44
- George Russell with the No. 63
Alpine
Alpine who are looking to defend their 4th place in the constructors championship unveiled their A523. They have stayed loyal to their color scheme from lat year and have gone for the pink and blue. The only exceptions are the first 3 races, where the livery is going to be change to a full pink color. They have done this past seasons as well.
Their two pilots for this season are:
- Esteban Ocon with the No. 31
- Pierr Gasly with the No. 10
