Red Bull celebrating after a 1-2 victory in Bahrain

Max Verstappen didn’t leave space for doubt as the season started. The current world champion dominated from start to end in Bahrain. He crossed the finish line with an 11.9-second gap to his teammate Checo Perez.

One of the real stars from this weekend were Aston Martin. With both drivers in the points and one on the podium, they sit in second place in the constructors’ championship. They have shown everyone that they can be a contender for a top-three finish in both championships.

Fernando Alonso, who got driver of the day, got his 99th podium getting 3rd place. He showed some incredible driving skills, overtaking many rivals along the way. Lanced Stroll also got an incredible finish (6th) considering the fact that the week before he had surgery on one of his wrists and toe.

On the other hand, we have Ferrari and Mercedes. Ferrari still with liability issues as Charles Leclerc DNF in the 40th lap due to engine power problems. Mercedes are still looking very slow in comparison to their competitors, Red Bull.

Another important mention needs to be given to Pierre Gasly. He started in 19th after a poor qualifying but managed to recover and ended in 9th place. He knew how to get every ounce of juice out of the Alpine getting his first points with the team.
