The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has suspended all leagues “indefinitely” after Ankaragucu’s president attacked the referee. This came moments after the match ended.

All of this anger came since at the 97th minute Rizespor managed to score the goal that equalized the game. The Turkish club president wasn’t happy with that and as a result, decided to take his anger against the referee.

Koca invaded the pitch, went straight to Meler, and punched him in the face. This made him fall while suffering from the pain. To top it all off, some fans also invaded the pitch and started kicking the referee as he was on the ground.

Meler had to be scored by police officers back into the dressing room.

The Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has issued a detention order against Faruk Koca, however, he is yet to be detained. They have already captured two others who are assumed involved in the issue.

“Turkish football has been punched shamefully tonight. Everyone involved in this incident will pay the price,” TFF Chairman Mehmet Buyukeksi said, according to TRT.

Ankaragucu are 11th in the standings with 18 points. Meanwhile, Rizespor sits 3 places above with 22 points after 15 matches.
