Red Bull ‘s Dominance continues in the Saudi Arabian GP
It’s a Red Bull 1-2 finish in Saudi Arabia to continue their dominating start to the F1 2024 season with Max Verstappen in the lead.
There have only been two races in the season and it’s clear who the favorite to win both championships are. Max Verstappen wins for the second time in a row this season and Sergio Perez gets his second second place of the season. Charles Leclerc takes third place giving the second podium to Ferrari of the season.
Verstappen dominated from start to finish only descending from 1st place after his pitstop. After that, it was a straightforward race for the Dutch which keeps with the same form he ended last season. With this podium, Max reached his 100th podium of his career.
On the other hand, the other Red Bull driver, Sergio Perez had another easy race. He started 3rd but finished 2nd even after having a 5-second penalty. The penalty didn’t affect him since he finished around 10 seconds in front of Leclerc.
Leclerc had a very solo race and an easy 3rd-place podium victory for him, giving excellent points to Ferrari and minimizing the damage caused by Carlos’ absence.
Outstanding performance
Carlos Sainz had to be replaced by Oliver Bearman, the 18-year-old rookie from F2 after having surgery for appendicitis. Bearnman missed Q3 for less than 0.100 seconds yesterday. Today he managed to make a mega performance and take 7th place. This performance won him the title of driver of the day and was well deserved. It’s expected that Sainz will return for the Australian GP however many good performances are expected from Oliver in the upcoming years.
Is someone going to be able to stop the Red Bull drivers this season?
