Messi and PSG are likely to part ways

L’equipe has announced that unless Lionel Messi accepts a 25% salary reduction Paris Saint-Germain and he will part ways at the end of the season.

Messi’s future has been uncertain for quite some time now. Just before the world cup started there were talks about him re-signing with his current club. Everything changed after he became World Champion. Everyone saw him perform magnificently.

After it, he returned to Paris but his magic hasn’t sparked with his club. The trio Mbappe, Messi, and Neymar haven’t returned what everyone expected of such great, individual, players. There are many speculations about why this is happening. In my opinion, this is just due to the fact that they all want to shine but individually and not as a team. This isn’t healthy for a team and it ends up just as we are seeing it.

With all this in mind, the Argentinian player is looking for all the options available and many have already opened. Just recently, Al Hilal sent an official proposal to the superstar offering €400m per season.

“Al Hilal sent official proposal to sign Leo Messi — salary worth more than €400m/year!” stated Fabriziorom. “Leo Messi’s absolute priority remains the same: he wants continue in European football, at least until the Copa América taking place summer 2024.”

With Messi’s interest in staying in Europe Barcelona are one of the main candidates to sign him. Barca’s vice president has expressed his wish of having Messi play once more for the club.

This just comes to show that even just about to celebrate his 36th birthday, Lionel Messi is still one of the best players in the world.
