Erling Haaland was one of the main characters in Manchester City’s victory against Bayern Munich, breaking another record.

This Tuesday night, Manchester City received Bayern Munich at Etihad Stadium for the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal. City stunned Bayern with a 3-0 victory. This is the biggest score difference win the club has seen in 6 years of UCL participation. Pep Guardiola knows they shouldn’t get confident and think they have already won the match as he said in his post-match interview.

“If you don’t perform really well, they are able to score one, two, three. I know that. The players know that. It’s an incredible result, but we have to do our game with huge, huge personality.” Guardiola stated

Now moving on to the star Manchester City acquired this past summer, Erling Haaland. He scored the third goal of the night and with it broke another record.

Haaland has become the first-ever Premier League player to score 45 goals in a single season (all competitions combined). The Norwegian has become one of the team’s greatest assets leading them to many victories with the help of their manager Pep Guardiola.

With the possibility of Manchester City playing 15 more games the number of goals is almost certainly going to go up.
