If there is a match we’ve all been waiting for this past few days was this one. Two of the favorites to win the Champions League had to face each other in the semifinal. Manchester City and Real Madrid have faced each other in the past.

Last season the same stage was presented and they faced each other in the semifinals. That game gave us tons of emotions as Madrid got their pass to the final by just one goal in aggregate (6-5). The thrill came in the second leg where with less than 10 minutes left on the clock, Los Blancos scored 2 goals that gave them the victory.

Therefore this game was one of the most awaited by everyone.

City came out strong, looking even stronger than Real. During the first minutes, the game was being played completely in Madrid’s side. However, almost each time Los Blancos took control of the ball it ended in a potential goal play. Manchester almost tripled the amount of passes and possession they had over Real Madrid.

With one of these plays, Vinicius Junior managed to score with a superb shot from outside the box (36′). This goal unleashed a sleeping Real Madrid and decontrolled Manchester City.

In the second half, things continued the same way. It wasn’t until Kevin De Bruyne, with a stunner from outside the box, scored that City recovered itself (67′). Now both teams were pushing hard for the second goal. Ederson and Courtois received many knocks on their door during these final minutes.

The next match is going to be at the Etihad Stadium on the 17th of May.
