Adrian Newey will exit Red Bull F1 team in early 2025

Adrian Newey is set to leave Red Bull’s F1 team in the first quarter of 2025 “to seek new challenges for myself [Newey].”

Reports around Newey’s departure have been going around the paddock since the first few races of the season. Red Bull Racing, on Wednesday, made the official announcement that the Chief Technical Officer will leave the team.

Adrian Newey is considered one of the best car designers to have lived. He is the one with the most championship-winning car in F1 history. A vast majority of these wins came with Red Bull.

Newey became part of Red Bull in 2006 (1 year after its creation) and has helped them win both drivers and constructors championships. He is one of the keys responsible for the great dominance we have seen these past years with Red Bull.

Now that Adrian is finally free again, we could see him move to Ferrari, alongside Lewis Hamilton, or maybe move to Aston Martin, with Fernando Alonso. These two teams are looking to present a championship-winning car shortly. They think they can achieve it with the help of Newey and their drivers. However, the move is expected to be made to help design the 2026 car.

Team’s future

With Adrian Newey officially out of the team after 2025 and new regulations coming in 2026, the question is, will Max Verstappen stay? After all the controversy going on at Red Bull since the beginning of the season, Verstappen’s exit has been a talking point. Even though the team is in a dominant stage things might change in 2026. Thanks to this, Max might also be looking to leave the team. Nonetheless, nothing is yet confirmed and for the moment the Dutch driver claims to be focused on the season.

Do you think this is the end of Red Bull’s dominance?
