FA Cup champions are out

2022 FA Cup champions, Liverpool, are out of the competition. They lost todays match 2-1 to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Liverpool were looking to redeem themself from their previous match against Brighton in which they lost that match 3-0.

The match started very evenly with both teams almost matching in possession and chances. Things changed when Harvey Elliott scored the first goal for Liverpool (30′). This advantage didn’t last long as Brighton evened the game with a goal from Lewis Dunk (39′).

Things looked as if the game was going to have to be extended, but the Japanese Karol Mitoma came with a late winner on the 90′ + 2′ minute.

The FA Cup disaster just adds to a terrible season on behalf of Liverpool. Now being eliminated from both cup (FA Cup and Carabao Cup) and ninth on the Premier League.

Their only real chance to get a trophy this year is on the Champions League. It will be tough though. They have the round of 16th coming up, but they will be facing Real Madrid.

Beating Madrid and wining the Champions League is the only way to water down this terrible season it has been so far.
