Kylian Mbappe has been chosen as the new captain of France’s national team and Antonio Grizmann as vice-captain by Didier Deschamps.

Mbappe has been charge with the duty of replacing Hugo Lloris as captain. The Tottenham’s goalkeeper decided to retire from the national team right after the end of the 2022 World Cup.

Kylian Mbappe has already made 61 goal contributions in only 66 appearance for the national team. He has scored 36 goals and assisted 25 other.

“Kylian meets all the boxes to have this responsibility. On the field as in group life, by being a unifying element.” Deschamps told Telefoot.

On the their hand, we have Antoine Griezmann who isn’t happy with the decision took by Deschamps. He thinks he deserved the band more than any other member of the team. Griezmann had to change his position during the World Cup due to injuries some of his teammate had. He did and preformed very well even though he wasn’t comfortable.

Antoine is considering retiring from the national team due to this decision. If he does Deschamps is going to have a big problem between his hands since many of the veteran players have already left the clubs. Some of them are Raphael Varane, Hugo Lloris and Karim Benzema.

What is going to be Didier Deschamps decision considering he might loose another veteran player? Do you think Kylian Mbappe is the right man for the job? Tell us in the comment section!
