Honda is currently the engine supplier for Red Bull Racing and Alpha Tauri, but the team has decided to part ways with the Japanese after 2026. They will join forces with Ford to build their own engine.

On the other hand, Aston Martin is currently using a Mercedes engine. However, they know that if they want to be a Championship Winning team they need to start having their own engine. The team has recently revealed that they are trying to make many components in-house. With the new infrastructures they have built this is going to be possible.

Now that Aston Martin has a competitive car they want a competitive engine no other team has. Since they have the Red Bull tendency, they will now use the same engine Red Bull used, Honda.

Even with the history Honda and Fernando Alonso had during his time at McLaren the Japanese company won’t have any problems working with the Spaniard.

With Honda in the game for the 2026 season, there will be 6 engines manufacturer as of now:

  • Honda
  • Red Bull
  • Mercedes
  • Ferrari
  • Renault
  • Audi
