Gerard Piqué will be back in professional football

Gerard Piqué has announced that he will be returning to professional football as a coach after 1 year in retirement.

The Barcelona legend who retired in November 2022 has missed professional football. Since his retirement, the Spaniard founded the King’s League and it has had great success. However, not everything has been so joyful.

During this time he also ended his marriage with the singer Shakira. All after she found out about an affair with current Gerard Pique girlfriend. This involved them both in a lot of controversy during the divorce process. Thankfully for both of them, things have calmed down for now.

Piqué announced via his X official account of the news claiming that he missed the sport.

“It’s a new year and after giving it a lot of thought I’ve decided to come back to football. I miss it a lot. This time it won’t be as a player. It will be as a coach. I’ll share more details at the end of the week.”

As he mentioned, there aren’t a lot of details yet but more info will come in the following days. However, rumors don’t wait and some are speculating he will join Xavi Hernandez, a former teammate, at Barcelona. Meanwhile, others say that he might end up in FC Andorra, the Segunda side he owns.
