Las Reinas del Caribe takes gold in Panamerican Volleyball
Las Reinas del Caribe defended their title in the Santiago 2023, Panamerican games winning the final 3-0 against Brazil.
The Dominican Republic Volleyball team shines again, now in the Panamerican games after an incredible run. They came into the tournament after winning their ticket to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Being top of their group they knew the excellent shape they had.
Trying to defend their title they got on Lima 2019, Las Reinas del Caribe, faced Brazil in this edition’s final. The Dominicans won the first set 26-24. However, the crowd made their discomfort known since Brazil made many video revision requests.
Nonetheless, this didn’t last long. The two remaining sets the Brazilian spirit we saw in the first one had left the Arena Parque O’Higgins. The Dominican Republic won them 25-16 and 25-19. With it, Santigo became the stage of their second consecutive crown in the Panamerican games.
Mexico fought against Argentina and got third place after a great five-set battle between them. The set results were: 25-22, 23-25, 25-22, 18-25, 13-15.
