Tristan Thompson suspended for 25 games after positive drug test
Tristan Thompson has been suspended for 25 games by the NBA after testing positive during drug tests on Tuesday.
The Cavaliers’ center who recently joined this past summer has been performing excellently. Having a good season and being a key part of the team has all gone to the trash.
During a routinary check by the NBA, Thompson tested positive for ibutamoren (a growth hormone) and SARM LGD-4033 (used for muscle enhancement). Both of these are substances prohibited by the NBA. This gave place to the 25 games sanctioned without pay.
Neither Tristan Thompson nor the Cavaliers have made any comments regarding the situation.
The 32-year-old player will begin his sanction by missing the match against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday.
It’s a hard situation for the team and fans. The Canadian who once participated in the 2016 team that won the NBA Championship and that now came for his second stint at the club might not end as everyone expected. It’s now up to the team to see what they decide to do with Thompson after the sanction ends.
The Cavs now sit in the fourth position of the Eastern Conference and still look to continue this good 9 undefeated games strike they currently have.
Is Tristan Thompson’s suspension going to affect the team’s performance?
