Julian Nagelsmann out Thomas Tuchel in at Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich have decided to sack Julian Nagelsmann after a disappointing season. Thomas Tuchel has been appointed as new head coach.

Nagelsmann has not been having the season everyone expected from Bayern, specially in the Bundesliga. It’s true he won the Bundesliga title last season, but they currently sit at second place after they lost last Sunday against Bayer Leverkursen. Therefore, with their streak in danger the team has decided to sack him.

The replacement came right on as Thomas Tuchel has been appointed as the new head coach. However, his job will start his job after the international window ends.

“This decision was taken by CEO Oliver Kahn and board member for sport Hasan Salihamidzic in consultation with club president Herbert Hainer. Nagelsmann will be succeeded by Thomas Tuchel. Tuchel will receive a contract until 30 June 2025 and will supervise squad training for the first time on Monday.” Said Bayern in a communication

Above all, Julian Nagelsmann wasn’t the only one to have been sent out. The team also stated: “Along with Nagelsmann, assistant coaches Dino Toppmoller, Benjamin Gluck and Xaver Zembrod have also been released.”

Tuchel will have difficult games coming up as a result of this change. Between those is their Champions League quarterfinal match against Manchester City. However they just come from managing to easily eliminate PSG from the competition. This next fase is going to requiere a better Bayern if they want to win.

On the other hand, we have a very important match for the Bundesliga title race. Bayern Munich are going to be facing Borussia Dortmund. This is probably the match that will decide the next Bundesliga champion.
