After coming from behind Novak Djokovic showed what he is made of. He conquered the clay field in Paris by winning 3-0 to Casper Ruud. With this win, he has gotten his 23rd Grand Slam title surpassing Rafael Nadal for the most Grand Slam titles in Men’s category. Djokovic is now tied with Serena Williams with that number.

Ruud came knowing it would be hard but gained confidence in the first set with an early lead 3-0. Novak seemed very off-balanced and unstable during this set, not very common in him. However, he overcame his problems and managed to take the set to a tiebreaker, where he won it. The first set ended 7-6 (1).

After this things changed. The 36-year-old player started to control the pace of the game and won the two following sets 6-3 and 7-5. Ruud gave it his all but it wasn’t enough to stop Djokovic.

Other than the records previously mention Novak Djokovic managed to break another one and is now the oldest man to win the French Open. As well, this victory secured him the number 1 spot in the ATP Tour ranking.

Is someone going to be able to beat this record?
